[Dems2008] Re: 527s

• a couple issues
• I suppose there's a free speech issue implicated in trying to muzzle 527s
• but I also suppose it is a legitimate inquiry whether a candidate (or his or her campaign) has actively tried to enlist the participation of a 527 so as to circumvent the legislated limits on hard money contributions; to do so would violate both the spirit and the letter of the existing limits on contributions of hard money, and would surely bring an action bythe FEC if the link could be demonstrated.
