[Dems2008] Re: The Clinton Money trail

I am continually haunted by the words of General Tommy Franks who said "in Iraq we got what we expected and not what we hoped for"  In other words, they expected to fail.  For me the difference between Barak and Hillary is the difference between hope and expectationsHope is not fortified by anything other than whimsical desire while expectations are built on knowledge and experience.  Expectations are fortified by faith.
In a TV interview during the SC primaries an elderly African American woman was asked how she was going to vote.  She replied that her heart said Barak while her head said Hillary.  We can fight bitterly amongst ourselves over who is the more qualified candidate, or who is more electable, but in the end the voters will choose between their hopes and their expectations, between their hearts and their heads.
History tells us that the hearts always win, especially when one candidate is able to pull in new voters like a pied piper.
If in fact Barak wins the nomination, the Democratic party will be forced back to its roots.  We will have to be inclusive, empathetic, and responsible for our members.  We will have to circle the wagons and fend off an onslaught of Republican war games.  They will use all of their motivators: hate, fear, envy, greed, and ignorance and they will be ruthless.  The battle for the white house will be a battle of hope and faith against hate and fear.
After witnessing the despicable behavior of many in this group I am sad to say that my  expectations are not very high.  I hope I am wrong.
