This isn't just the party line, its the oft-voiced opinion of most
pundits and other political "wise ones". The problem with it is that
Hillary has never been seen as a candidate on her own. She is always
coupled with Bill, and I think that has been the worst detriment to her
candidacy. Even discounting Bill's behavior in SC, from the beginning of
this campaign its been "The Clintons" v. Obama. It may well be that a
lot of voters don't consciously register what's wrong with hearing about
"The Clintons" all the time, but they know that something isn't just
right about it. Most of us are not looking for a president who is one
of a couple. We are looking for a president who can stand alone, and
Hillary's campaign has been managed in such a way that its obvious that
she is a "package deal"... she doesn't stand alone.
