[Dems2008] Kerry, McCain, SwiftBoating, military record critiques

• "Critiquing" a military record (fair game always) does NOT in any way mean you have to LIE about that record
• The attacks on Kerry were a lie, not a critique
• That one criticism of one candidate was based on lies does not in any way compel us to refrain from critiquing a similarly situated subsequent candidate
• critiquing McCain's military record will result either in its being debunked as bunk or sustained as worthy, or something in between.  
• But the bald assertion by his fans that he's some sort of George Washington or hero need never be taken on face value
• anyone who is afraid of an objective analysis or critique of something is hiding something.
