Why ... Edwards is in the most powerful poistion of all... the fact he
holds delegates and is a super delegate with those that will follow
him puts his floor power at about 40... he will want to have his hand
in the crafting of the platform along with the fact he can own a very
powerful speaking position. Whoever the nominee has to come to HIM to
prevent the broken up vote. Whenever this breaks apart the presumptive
nominee will make an appeal to Edwards to try for as close to possible
to a unanimous vote. Sorry but as far as power on the floor you are
simply incorrect in your assumption. The goal will be to have the
floor vote be nearly unanimous as usual and Edwards holds a powerful
position at this point with no reason to move and many reasons not to
move. Richardson smartly burned some bridges in exchange for respect
among what he sees as the rising power in the party... Edwards
shouldn't and won't..
