> Look, you guys in agreeing with Wright are edging far too close to
being anti american.
How dare you call me antiamerican. I served this country proudly in
three conflicts overseas. I love this country and am proud of it. If
speaking my mind makes me "anti" American then I will probably speak
it twice just to make sure everyone heard me. I did not serve this
country, to have speech censorshipped, or to have ideas be too
dangerous to talk about. As far as speaking... I, and other vets who
paid a much higher price than myself, earned everyone the right to
speak there mind.
> Can't you see that is the theme? We were worried about Obamas lack
of patriotism, and it is now turning into this! What in the hell?
Wake the f__ up people!!
Then I will embrace it twice. Thats part of what turned me off from
the Clinton campaign in the first place. How dare she and her
followers wave THEIR patriotism is my face or anyone elses. I will be
damned if I let someone take this country over that feels they can use
patriotism as a tool to get elected. It dirties a noble concept and
makes it base. It demeans the lives of all the men and women who
served this country and paid with their lives.
> The govt counts combat troops deaths sep. from contractors, etc...
They also have sep. list for those who died in hospital later. Yes,
they intentionally make it difficult to get the real numbers. They do
still conduct body counts of civilian deaths, and hostiles. We are in
a war, there is no open information pact on this. Any of you who
think these troops are not fighting for our country, eat shit. These
kids are doing just what uncle same told them to do. They are no less
brave and noble in effort than any troops before them in war.
No one said they were. This is typical Republican CRAP. This is the
crap I hate and oppose. I oppose the war because I (unlike some) care
about our troops. I (unlike some) realize the cost, and understand you
do not commit troops stupidly... I unlike some do not differentiate
between troop casualties and civilian casualties. I have seen both and
I guarantee you... a dead trooper and a dead civilian are just as dead
and just as wasted. So think twice before you tell ME to wake up.
Remember the phrase in from of VA hospitals: The price of freedom
resides within.
That freedom is NOT for you to decide. It is a God given right and I
will be damned if I will see it cheapened to a political slogan.
