where I live, but if you only got air conditioning in 1999, you have
some really crappy local government. Why does Rocky Top make you
mad? I'm sorry that I let this election make me defensive about
something I don't even feel, and I let something that was said to me
outside of this group piss me off so badly that I vented and that was
stupid of me. I honestly have no idea what HNIC is, and I wish you'd
tell me because that's a new one to me. But jeez, you said "we know
how to handle ours"? What the hell does that mean? That's not what
I meant at all and I don't know who you live around, but maybe you
should think about moving! As an adult I have never lived in a
neighborhood that doesn't have black people living in it. We moved
to our small city because of the school district, which is the same
reason black people, asian people and everybody else moves to this
community. Homes are in every price range so it's not exclusive by
any means. I think maybe because I grew up in a Catholic church that
was not then and never has been segregated, because the schools here
were integrated when I was so little, and because I was a military
wife when I was young, I haven't thought much about segregating
myself from color, just from trashy people, but that crosses race,
economics and everything else. As far as marrying outside ones race,
there are bi-racial children in my family and they are just as
annoying and well loved. When my father married my mother, nobody in
his family was really excited about him marry a Dego, so I guess
maybe I know a little bit about how it feels to hear people talk
about your own mother and her family of immigrants. But instead of
feeling angry I have always been proud that half of me comes from a
country with the best food on the planet, opera, art and the Vatican,
not to mention hot women, of which I like to tell (kid) myself I am
one, or at least used to be. People have to find their own self
worth because if you depend on somebody else to give it to you,
especially white men, then you're screwed big time. And don't even
get me started on Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Hotty Toddy and go
to hell Mississippi State!
