Before Wisconsin part of Hillary's campaign staff (the part that still
around btw) came to the conclusion that they could not win the
election. OK ... No I am not saying she could not win as in not obtain
the nomination, I mean win as in convince voters to vote for her. To
get the nomination Barak had to loose his edge. Thus started the
negative campaign stylings of one Mr. Wolfson and company. Obama has
to win by garnering votes and looking unbeatable. Hillary's negatives
are already high so attack ads do little, and making her look
unelectable doesn't help either. His strategy is to look presidential
and his attacks have to be limited in scope. So you have Hillary
mentioning Wright twice in prepared speeches yesterday. While Barak is
remaining rather silent on both issues. Of course Barak is gearing up
for his bus tour (the "Road to Change Tour" which i think he is doing
a week too early and its name is silly) and setting up the talking
points with the media.
Hence negative attacks by Clinton get more news play for a few days,
and you will see less on Bosnia because it does not fit with the
talking points for the tour.
One thing you might notice is that the comments from the Obama
campaign will be coming from Burton more than David Plouffe for a
little while.
