freedom, a home from olden days where he or she can practice his or
her religion without prejudice.
I totally agree which is why I hate to see its fine heritage and
importance sullied by its actions.
> We have experienced the holocaust either in person or by stories.
Now it will be by stories since many who lived during that time who
survived are dying out. You are lucky not to have experienced this or
been effected in the least. and unfortionately many will forget this
travesty.
Again I totally agree. Of course it is important for the Jewish people
to remember that it was an event of world wide proportions and that
the Jews have lessons to learn as well. Toleration should be a
universal quality.
> It was Eisenhower that ordered pictures of Dauchau so that people
would remember. and yet there are a number of people in various
groups world wide making claims that it never happened.
Which is ludicrous, as ludicrous as those who say that the Idians got
what they deserved, or that slavery and Jim Crowe are not that
important. Ignorance should be stamped out by the power of truth.
>If we fail to remember, our future may yet experience it. It is
bad enough that decades ago a boat full of Jews were refused entry
here in the US, they went to various ports in this hemisphere and
nobody would accept them.
Actually there was one country in the Western Hemisphere that
desperately tried to take in Jewish refugees. This country offered
them a fairly large acreage and cows and chickens. In fact it was the
only country to agree so. Trivia question... Name that country. Answer
Below:
Answer:
Dominican Republic
I suggest you read about the Evian confernace and the role of the
Dominican Republic and then what happened to the refugees and the area
they settled in. Amazing reading.
