[Dems2008] Re: Why Obama

Sandra, I hear you. One of the things that troubles me most about my
party is that we seem too timid to say what needs to be said, namely,
that our BUSINESS tax rates are TOO high, and that they should be
SLASHED.

My view: income tax rates on those earning more than $200K should rise
dramatically; the preferential rates on qualified dividends should be
repealed;

rates on those earning less than $120K should be slashed enormously.
We should be able to balance our federal budget and still ensure that
those earning less than $40K a year pay no income tax.

The annual wage ceiling on FICA should be raised substantially (Hillary
is afraid to support this simple solution).

IF someone like me (semi-retired) should even be permitted to receive
social security, it should be taxed at a much higher rate than normal
earned income.
