Democrats in 2008: [Dems2008] Reverend Wrong

I've been thinking about his statements and the entire controversy. Having seen how a single event (e.g. Muskie's tears, Dean's scream, George Romney's "brainwashing" comment, Kerry's "first I voted for, then against" video) can tube a campaign
and I suppose that's always possible
on the other hand, while there's a huge black hole of ignorance in the electorate, maybe there's some reason to believe that -- except for the 35% of the public that would never have voted for Barack under ANY circumstances -- Barack has the time, and the capability, to separate himself from the good Reverend sufficiently to get past this episode.
Those earlier one-event episodes ended a campaign almost immediately (except for Kerry), so there's reason to believe that if Barack is still standing a week or two from now, this episode will slink into the past
YES, indeed, we can expect to see the videos during the fall campaign from some of these offshoot rightwing organizations; no doubt. But if the campaign is ready and prepared with convincing counter-commercials that make Barack's separation from the silly parts of Reverend Wrong's sermons, all is probalby not lost, or certainly recoverable.
