Re: [Dems2008] About being too personal

I agree that this campaign has become too personal, but when
I notice derogatory remarks being made about Obama (or any
other candidate's relatives), I feel inclined to post about this
issue.

I do not blame you for that as I would be incline to do the same thing as that is partially what caused Kerry his lose in 2004 because he did not respond. However, both sides of the coin have done this and my point is that we should look at how we are going to reconcile to beat McCain who no longer has competition and is busy campaigning on a unified front in his own party.

Further, I feel that if Obama's mom had married White Europeans,
there would be considerably less discussion about her. Some feel
offended to hear about interracial marriages. She had a difficult life,
but passed along important  values to Obama. God bless her and
his other relatives.

Hopefully that the discussion will not end after the election.  We must seek to deal with this issue and other issues of race before it explodes in our face like it did in the '60's.  This matter has pervaded us for the last 300 hundred years and we need to deal with it once and for all.

About Obama's chances in the general election, he will prevail in
a country which has had enough of a recession, poor health care,
a senseless war and so on. I see an upcoming landslide for him
in the general election. The American public wants change and
belief he is the one to bring this about in the next several years.

If he does win the nomination, I do hope so.  I am a bit concerned about his wins in some predominantly red republican states.  a general election is different from primary time and the question is Will Republicans vote for Obama over McCain in the general election?  Are they that dissatisfied with their own party that they will cross over in this race?  Or are we being given mixed signals on this?  I don't know.  But we shall see.
