the funny thing about this discussion is that it may be pointless as there is a good chance that Obama will be the candidate this year.  but I still say that if it is hillary we may have our work cut out for us and I do agree with you re: the independent vote with qualifications based on age that Obama for young voters, hillary for older independents in general.  I know,,,,,,broad generality but I think true.  the question......the younger voters came out for Obama in the primaries, will they come out equally if not more in the general election?   They will be needed then even more.

and so it will not be those who sit out the election who give it to
McCain.

Hillary's chances of beating McCain are about what her chances of
having a majority of the pledged delegates. If she can't even win the
popular vote IN OUR PARTY, how does she expect to win independents this
fall?

24% of her paltry 38% in Mississippi were REPUBLICAN CROSS-OVERS doing
mischief.
