Re: [Dems2008] Re: Letter from the Members of the "Out of Iraq Caucus"

I keep hearing that Wright's rhetoric is not unusual
in black churches around the country, which frankly
shocked me. But if that is true, then it's not
surprising that like minded people see rascism where
none is intended and that won't help Obama. Millions
of Americans have voted for him from all ages, races
and backgrounds so apparently we're not such a
horrible country. I get the impression from some
supporters and media pundits, that we should vote for
Obama as part of a healing process. Some wounds are
self inflicted and I've noticed in his speeches when
he touches on that, the applause is polite at best.
At any rate, there are some people who are rascist and
stupid, some are just mean and some who are quick to
blame others for their situation and downright
sorryness, and since I'm related to a few of each, I
know that nothing is going to fix that until they
decide to stop being that way. You can give people
tools, but if they don't use them I don't know what
else can be done. I haven't heard all of Wright's
sermons, but if he doesn't send people away feeling
uplifted in the sense of making a positive difference
in their own lives and the lives of others then he's
doing them more of a disservice than a well to do
whitie such as myself could ever do to them. If this
conversation of blame goes on much longer in the
media, it's going to have a major backlash, and after
hearing that Hillary has pulled even with him in NC it
may be getting there already. Why hasn't Wright
stepped out and talked to the media? He's the one who
threw Obama under the bus in the first place.
