No.  The nomination and general election are 2 very different things.  If Obama is ahead and is cheated out of the nomination because of back-room dealings, smoke-filled-room politics, it will be an obvious and embarrassing subversion of the democratic process.  That will be disaster for the party and McCain will win.  If Obama loses fair and square in the general election, there's not much his supporters will be able to say.  After all, the people will have spoken.
