Race has not seemed to be something to stay away from, but he has not
wanted it to be the REASON for his campaign. Barack's goal is to be the
President, not the "black" President, and he has aimed his campaign at
the whole of the population, not just the black population. I think
he's been successful. As of today he's spoken to the racism in this
country is a more honest and straightforward way than anyone I've ever
heard, at least since the "Dream" speach. Even Pat Buchanan praised the
speech and the ideas. Imagine that. Carol
