When Dick Morris came to the white house his brain child was
triangulation. Triangulation weighs the extremes of the polls and
create a bell curve until you find the center. Then you shift policy
to appeal to the center. The problem with triangulation is that you
continually shift to the right. Most people forget that Clinton ended
up at odds with his own party, and was allied with the Republican
congress.

Morris is quite the study. He believed first and foremost that
political values should be set by poll trending, rather than by any
sort of concrete value system.
