EASy enough. we need the gas there to get around. and then make the iraq civilians gasoline dependent and then have them pay $4.00 per gallon.

In Iraq the US military is spending over $3/gal for fuel... while Iraqi civilians get it for under $1.50/gal...

Apart from the loss of lives (U.S. and Iraqi), the displacement of four millions Iraqis so far, the waste of money, and the diversion from really making us safer where it counts, when I heard Carl Levin's opening remarks today, I wanted to throw a brick through the television set (the way I used to feel listening to Richard Nixon).
Levin fairly clearly and succinctly spelled out how the Iraqis are amassing BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars (the windfall from crude running to over $100 bbl), and NOT spending it on reconstruction.......just doing whatever they do with windfalls.
Meanwhile, we are spending our tax dollars, and borrowing more against our kids futures, to do what the Iraqis should themselves be funding.
Grinds my gears BIG TIME. We were lied into this war; we are lied to on an almost daily basis again and again and again.
When I recognize that McCain is almost surely willing to continue that disastrous war and occupation for forever, I guess when the rubber meets the road, I would vote for the Democrat this fall...........whoever it is.
