Re: [Dems2008] Re: Obama & CBC : Our nation needs them

You are trying to twist things around.  This is a case of threatening tribal sovereignty.  You are shunning the facts because they do not reflect upon your candidate favorably.  You certainly come across as the ignorant one.  We may need the CBC for some things, but not to tear down tribal sovereignty.  We don't need anyone for that.  If it were any other candidate I would be fuming as well.  I still disdain President Clinton for not pardoning Peltier.  Do you even know who that is?  This should be beyond party limits.  I cannot understand your lack of foresight.  Do you not know what this is setting precidence for?  Wake up!!!  You are trying to say these people deserve tribal membership and you may be right.  However, this is not our decision to make.  It is a tribal decision.  That is not the point here.  The point is a special interest group, the CBC is trying to bully the tribe here.  Do you not see that?  There are tribal courts in place to handle this, and their word should be final.  You think them children incappable of tending to their business?  If we allow anyone, including Obamas CBC to do this, we will be equally responsible for the loss.  The loss of beautiful culture, and so much more.  What if things were the other way around and say our friend Russia was telling us who we should and should not allow to be citizens or else they would dissolve us?   Maybe that's not the best analogy, but I am attempting to kick start the moral compass that surely resides in you as it does most Americans.  It is sickening that for the sake of your candidate you shun our responsibility as a nation to protect these cultures and their tribal sovereignty.   Come on now, can't you admit when you are wrong?    As for your accusation of knowing nothing about this issue.  I beg to differ.  I am certainly more versed in Native Issues than probably anyone else on this board.  My family contains blacks, native americans full blood, mixed and white.  I have also been an advocate for Native American Causes for many years.  My daughters father is full blood.  My tithes go to native charities as well.   We do not receive any of these subsidies or any other benefit of native designation except pride of belonging.   Ugly politics is avoidance of the real issue which is what YOU are doing.

No to distorting facts - This is an effort to use the situation

No to denying the rights of people because of race - those Freedmen
are being denied their rights as human beings because of politics

No to ignoring the facts - They are legally part of the tribe
and are being cast out shamelessly. Actually.....NO because
of ignorance. Do your homework and discover the truth.

Apparently you haven't a clue as to this issue. Do some
research before spouting out about it. This is 2008 and
not the slave era. EVERYONE is equal ! Obama is invaluable
because of his quest for the rights of the Freedman and all Americans.
Shame on anyone who denies those rights in the name of politics.

It is up to the individual nation what their tribal membership
requirements should be, not the outside Congressional black caucus of
which Obama is a member. This is NOT a game. This is about the life
or death of a culture. One which the American public is responsible
for. You are proving a poor custodian of this responsibility as are
the CBC members. I know you will answer trying to pick apart my post
and make a smart ss comment about being a custodian. I can hear your
mop jokes already. Address the issue at hand please. You should not
make this a joke. This could lead to death of cultures on our watch
and it is not one bit funny. You need to be respectful and
thoughtful. Obama is not always right. This should more than make
that case. Screwing with the indian
