where I looked, but looked it up on the net and it was Mary

Curtis Lee.  She is the daughter who distanced herself from

the family according to the book "Reading The Man".

There is always something new to learn, I should use the net

Forget which daughter but around 1902 or so she made national news by
disregarding Jim Crow laws and riding in the colored only car, she was
promptly arrested. It made quite a splash in the northern newspapers
as you can imagine.
