My comments:

• could well be, but Obama supporters (and all Dems if he is the nominee) should welcome that challenge -- to once and for all put race to rest in presidential politics OR let this country -- that so shamefully elected Geo. W Bush -- equally shamefully DENY the presidency to one on the basis of race
• we Dems should not be negotiating with ourselves.   It would be unprincipled for us to conclude that Obama is not electable because he is black, and therefore we will not nominate him.  
• If that happens, the fault is OURS, not the racists, for we will have joined them.
