practice I've been unable to draw a bright and firm line between a
president's private morality and behavior and his or her public role and
conduct.
Humans are too complicated to draw such lines - especially from a
distance - and at the extremes, one's private moral compass cannot be
disconnected from one's public ethics and standard of conduct.
