I work in mental health, so I chalk it up to the over zealous, no holds barred, forgot to take their meds group.  I think even if we had a shorter primary (which would be a good thing) you are still going to have the over the top supporters and the "I love them, they can do no wrong" crowds.  It is just a fact of anything that people are passionate about.  Be it politics, religion, or sports, ect.

And I have seen that as well.  Why is the tone so vicious?  I am not putting the total blame with Barack ; I have seen it with Hilllary people as well.  Too long a primary period?  One of the reasons for a shorter primary period and one national primary.
