[Dems2008] Re: 'Bad Money' Criticizes Wall Street, U.S. Finances

I listened to Phillips on NPR the other day. Unlike most long-time
Republican "analysts," Phillips has never let ideology get in the way
of his analysis. He's rare in that regard (in both parties
frankly). Will be interested to read his book.

Phillips is correct, of course, not necessarily for the reason he
cites, but for lots of other reasons: We are a country in serious
decline, on several levels, even though we are perhaps 10-20 years
away from the day when any politician will have the courage to
acknowledge that.

> Morning Edition, April 15, 2008 · Steve Inskeep talks to author
Kevin Phillips about his new book, Bad Money. Phillips argues in the
book that the U.S. economy is in danger because of its reliance on
the financial industry. He also believes that Wall Street has steered
the nation toward greater debt.
