Re: [Dems2008] Re: Three clear similarities between VietNam and Iraq

When I was in school I worked as a waitress and I also drove a cab.
So I have always been a big tipper.  My older brother owned the
only cab on the Island so as soon as the rest of us reached 16 we
were recruited to drive after school. The only money we got from
that was tips--which were pretty poor lol.--------Nan

Yes, when the guy loads top soil into your trunk, or the kid carries
bags for you to your car, dig into your pocket and tip.

I have to confess that it was one of my daughters -- who worked in a
restaurant while in college -- who taught me, "Dad, this is these
people's livelihood." It made me a bigger tipper.

And I tip especially high when I see a high school or college kid
working in a restaurant on a weekend evening or Sunday morning. I
had to work four days a week when I was in high school, and I admire
kids who are willing to work hard, especially in a service industry.

Soooooooo, the next time your waiter or waitress is a kid who could just
as easily be out on a weekend date or just clowning around, but is
instead working to earn tuition or money for clothes, MAKE THE TIP
bigger.
