One of the critical issues the country faces is the growing budget deficit and the national debt.  It's horrible.  I know that the military accounts for a good bit of it, but so do the entitlement payments (Social Security, Medicare, etc.)  Not one of the candidates has the guts to say that everyone is going to have to do with a lot less from the gov't in the coming years, the military included.  Or, I guess we'll just pass it on to our children and let them worry about it.
