Don't buy it a bit. Too many people were saying that there were
problems. The decision to vote for the war and most of those who voted
to go did so out of a sense of political expediency. And no hands are
clean. I support Biden. But he went along with the crowd. At the time
too many of us could smell a rat. If stupid me could see a problem...
then surely those who voted for it could too. I would rather know
someone voted for it because of expediency than that being duped. The
fact is the plan to go in did not contain a comprehensive plan to get
out... there was no provision for dealing with Turkey. Hell my focus
is American medical history in the south in the late 19th century and
I knew enough regional history to see a problem with Turkey. It did
not take a Rhodes scholar to see the holes in the decision to turn to
military force. So either you are a stupid dupe that voted for
something without researching it, or you knew you had to for your
political survival. I will take the latter every time.
